COMPLETE WORKS OF PLATO (New Translation) - BOOK LAUNCH

CELEBRATE AN HISTORICAL EVENT - THURSDAY AUGUST 12, 7:00pm AWST

The online publication of the complete works of Plato

When Leon MacLaren first conceived of the School, he imagined something along the lines of Socrates. He admitted that he didn’t know much about Socrates, so he had to find out. Throughout Leon MacLaren’s life, countless people around the world worked to find out more about Socrates and Plato.

After Leon MacLaren’s death, the work quickened in the hands of Dr. David Horan, the leader of the School in Ireland. For thirteen years, he has been working on a new translation of the complete works of Plato, and this is now online, freely available to all.

A celebratory event is planned for THURSDAY AUGUST 12 at 7:00pm AWST. Among the luminaries speaking at the event will be Donald Lambie, the leader of the School of Philosophy and Economic Science.

There is no charge for the event.
